Redlands Chamber Music Society presents the Hausmann String Quartet
The  Redlands Chamber Music Society presents the Hausmann String Quartet on Sunday, January 22 featuring Isaac Allen, violin, Angela Choong, viola, Bram Goldstein, violin and Yuan Zhang, cello. The concert is at 4 p.m. at Watchorn Hall, Frederic Loewe Performance Hall at the University of Redlands, 1200 Colton Avenue.  Tickets are $20. Admission for any music student is $5. The program will include the music of Mendelssohn, E. Trip to Feature Trains, Hot Air Balloons
The San Bernardino County Museum Association is planning a special 10-day trip, “Trains and Canyons of the Southwest,” on October 3 through 12, 2012. A tour information presentation is scheduled for Thursday, January 19at the County Museum in Redlands. Working in conjunction with Collette Vacations, the 10-day trip will explore the Southwest, highlighting Scottsdale, Phoenix, the Verde Canyon Railroad, Jerome, Sedona, the Grand Canyon Railway, and Santa Fe, culminating in a visit to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. The Musical “Oliver!” to be presented at the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival
Redlands, CA- The Redlands Community Music Association is pleased to announce that “Oliver!” will be the annual musical production for the 2012 Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival. “Oliver!” is based on the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist. It was the first musical adaptation of a Dickens work to become a stage hit. First presented in London with the script, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, it played for 2,618 performances. Art and artifacts exhibited at County Museum
A new special exhibit, “Art and Artifact,” opens on Tuesday, December 20 in the Fisk Gallery at the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands. The exhibit, which will run through mid-March, features original works of art from the museum’s collection along with artifacts from the history division’s collections. Admission to the exhibit is included with paid museum admission. “This exhibit highlights some favorite works of art along with interesting artifacts displayed as a response to the art,” said Michele Nielsen, museum curator of history and archives. “Many artists state that they create their work from their own reality, perhaps informed by objects or ideas, but...
An Evening with the Artists
Reservations are still open for the San Bernardino County Museum’s Wildlife Art Festival’s opening reception, “An Evening with the Artists: Celebrating Adventures in the Natural World”. Kids Need New and Gently Used Costumes
Halloween is right around the corner and the Family Service Association of Redlands has 110 kids who need costumes!  Homeless and low-income children can’t afford Halloween costumes. Family Service collects Halloween costumes and throws a little party for the children in their program. Their costume parade is a real hit with the kids. They started receiving calls asking for help with Halloween costumes on October 1st…and the calls haven’t stopped.  Can you help by donating a gently used or new Halloween costume this year? Glass Museum’s Annual Parking Lot Sale
Saturday, October 15th from 8:00 – 12:00 the Glass Museum will hold its Annual Parking Lot Sale.  This year the museum is going first class, limiting it sales to glass, china, pottery, silver, art, and jewelry from the museum’s storage attic. The museum will also be selling several pieces of Fostoria’s ‘American’ glass, duplicate pieces from their recent donation of 900+ pieces of American pattern glass.
