Assemblyman Anthony Adams (R-Hesperia) issued the following statement in response to the passage of a comprehensive bill package to address California's water crisis, including measures on Delta governance and restoration, water conservation, groundwater monitoring, and a finance measure to build reliable water storage.
"With virtually nothing being done to address California's water needs for decades, this historic water package takes the necessary steps to safeguard California's water future. By developing solutions that improve the state's water supply and protect the environment, we're finding ways to boost the state's economy. It's time that government step aside to get people back to work on water projects to ensure that residents will receive safe, reliable and affordable water for years to come.
"With my District having one of the largest groundwater storage capacities within the State, I am pleased that billions of dollars will go toward new groundwater storage projects and cleanup. These are dollars that will help create jobs by getting shovel-ready projects rolling."
Assemblyman Adams represents the 59th Assembly District, which includes the San Bernardino County communities of Apple Valley, Hesperia, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, San Bernardino, Highland and Mentone. He also represents the Los Angeles County communities of Claremont, La Verne, Glendora, San Dimas, Sierra Madre, Monrovia, Bradbury, Arcadia and La Crescenta.
