On Saturday, September 20, participants in the Route 66 Rendezvous Poker Run will make a stop at the San Bernardino County Museum at 10:00 am. Admission to the museum is free that day.
“The museum is one of the stops for over 200 vintage car entries in ‘Poker Run,’ a fun treasure hunt course that is part of the Route 66 festivities,” said Curator of History Michele Nielsen. “Cars are expected to arrive at 10:00 am and depart at 10:45 am, so visitors will be able to check out these cars and enjoy a free day at the museum too. We will also be featuring a vintage car photo mini-exhibit in our entrance foyer.”
While at the museum, visitors will also be able to see special exhibits: “All That Glitters: a century of razzle-dazzle,” “A Feast for the Eyes: dining in style, 1860s to 1940s,” “Sticks and Stones: vernacular architecture in San Bernardino County,” and “A Piece of My Heart: samplers from the collectors.” The museum’s permanent exhibits present history, anthropology, geology, paleontology, and biological sciences in a regional context.
