The primary funding for the project is from a $7.2 million U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly Grant that was secured for this project to provide for construction and rental assistance costs. The City of Ontario provided an additional $1.2 million of Federal HOME funds to make this project a reality.
"In securing the HUD 202 capital award and project rental assistance, we will be able to provide housing to a generation of Americans who has given us so much," Mayor Leon said. "The project plans reflect tremendous forethought and consideration for affordability as well as accessibility and appropriateness. It is an exceptional project the neighborhood and the community can truly be proud of."
Developer and non-profit sponsor for the project is CSI Support and Development Services, Inc. (CSI) who has been developing and managing projects using Section 202 funding since 1964.
