TEMECULA VALLEY
BALLOON & WINE FESTIVAL
The festival was first initiated in 1983 by the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce. At first, it started out as a hot air balloon race, introduced by Walt Darren, but members of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce wanted to incorporate other attractions the city had to offer. With all these great ideas and a lot of dedication by the Chamber of Commerce staff, they were able to get funding from the Kaiser Development Company and other great sponsors from the local community. The festival was introduced to the city in the Spring of 1984, and it turned out to be a great success.
Now the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival Association has kept this amazing tradition to develop cultural and economic development of the region. The 2006 Festival will be held on the weekend of June 2nd –June 4th 2006, at Lake Skinner. It will have the traditional wine tasting and live entertainment for great family fun. The Festival will begin in the evening of Friday, June 2nd with the Balloon Glow. Saturday and Sunday the events begin at 6am and are full days of entertainment like concerts, wine tasting in the Wine Gardens, and many other great activities for all ages. Tickets are on sale at the Festival’s office or you can purchase the tickets at the Admissions booth the day of the event.
