Arrowhead United Way is hosting free financial education workshops to educate the public on how to raise their credit score, avoid dishonest lenders, save money, buy a home, do loan modifications, and go through foreclosures and short sales.
The Gateway to Financial Literacy program is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 in cooperation with the California Department of Community Services and Development and Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County. The goal of the program is to provide workshops to educate individuals and families, so that they may become financially independent and improve their financial stability, health, and quality of life.
The next workshops will be:
- Understanding Credit and Credit Repair; Tuesday, May 18, 2010, 5pm to 6:30pm
- Identity Theft, Alternate Financial Services, and Predatory Lenders; Wednesday, May 19, 2010, 5pm to 6:30pm
- Housing Services and Money Management; Tuesday, May 25, 2010, 5pm to 6:30pm
The workshops will take place at Arrowhead United Way, 646 North D Street, San Bernardino. Space is limited and reservations are required. If you would like to attend, contact Maureen Morales at (909) 884-9441 x231 or maureenm@ahuw.org.
